What is the difference between antifreezes?

Most modern antifreezes are based on ethylene glycol. For enhanced metal protection, it is supplemented by a set of anti-corrosion and lubricating additives. The set of these additives depends on the materials of which the motor unit is made. This is the reason for recommending different antifreezes for different engines. These additives in one type of antifreezes are absolutely balanced, but when mixed, there can have negative chemical reactions resulting in chemical precipitations and system clogging. That’s why the mixing different types of antifreezes is strictly not recommended.
